Gift for a Friend - and one for Me!

I loved making this cute post-it notepad from a cheap plastic photo frame. I made a trial one for myself first with My Minds Eye papers - which I LOVE. Then I made one for a friends birthday using Bo Bunny Ambrosia papers..
I placed a mini scrapbook page into the section where the photo would go, mounted the post-it notes on card stock then used Mod Podge glue to adhere to the outside of the frame.

Once dry I then decorated the outside of the frame with some flowers, punched butterfly's  some bling and a mini title. I have some more frames to use so will be definitely making more soon. The frames (6x4 portrait) cost less than $5 for a set of 2!!

Good way to use up scraps too.

Love my Kids - Love My Minds Eye! The calico butterfly was a random find at Scrap It Flaunt it recently that I altered with a Prima stamp...........very happy with how it turned out.

I have been working on an album project for 2012 using Simple Stories papers and We R Memory Keepers album pages. I am up to May at the moment but hoping to fast track to be up to August by the end of October - so only 1 month behind. :) This is on top of a busy month and being behind in my Diploma course work so wish my luck! I will post some pics soon of my work so far.

I recently discovered a fab blog http://iheartorganizing.blogspot.com.au/ and it has inspired me to de clutter and organise more. So our trip to Ikea on the weekend was very exciting and I am thrilled with how my son's toy storage solution has turned out. Tonight I started on my bathroom.....I just need more time and $$$$

Ikea Photo Frame - something for ME!

I bought some of these frames at Ikea after seeing a great idea in a magazine. I altered mine slightly from the original concept. I wanted to make something I could keep as usually I give away my off the page projects. The gorgeous photo of my girls was my inspiration and the lovely Bo Bunny Ambrosia papers...love those colours!

My Minds Eye....follow your heart....

I love this range from My Minds Eye and the photo of my Mum & Nan from mothers day was perfect for this layout.....I made a few cards as well and another layout of my daughters which I need to re photograph.

I have gone mad with the Collections butterflies at the moment....love them!

Here is one of the cards I made. It needs a phrase still but I haven't decided on it's purpose yet so am waiting.

Off to Scrap it Flaunt it again this weekend for a scrappy & chatty night..... lots of projects - what will I take??? :)

I know I am taking a few variations of a gorgeous photo I took of my girls at our Harbour Town shopping trip last weekend..... Here is the pic.......love them!!!!

Scrappy nights @ Scrap it Flaunt It

I am looking forward to a scrap n yap this Saturday night at Scrap it Flaunt It with one of my best mates - who is just venturing into this world of scrap book madness!

I am trying to limit what I take as projects - ha!! It is hard....but trying to limit to 2 plus I'll make some cards. Currently I have 2 mini albums half done, Joshua's Kindy album about 1/5 done, a 2012 Year album with  Simple Stories Year-o-Graphy papers started (up to end of Feb) and I should have already started my step son's 18th album. I think I'll take 1 mini album, the Year-o-Graphy project plus random photos for a layout of two...........

If I get one layout, 2 cards and perhaps some of the Year-o-Graphy done I'll be happy :)

I have been working with Bo Bunny Ambrosia papers this week - love them!!! Here are some cards I made.

something different....

SMILE...
I decided to use some of the free papers that come with the scrap booking magazines. This one stood out to me and matched with a great snap from our recent camping trip with my bestie and her family. I don't normally make scenes or use such bright papers so this was a little different for me. I started with using Glimmer Mist and played around with making it run on the page by spraying some in the lid and dripping it on the cardstock. The layout just grew from there.....
I love the 3D look of these papers and the fact that the most expensive part was probably the American Craft Thickers title!!! I may try more of this type of page in the future....and can already see it working on cards.

CARDS

I made a gorgeous card for my Mother in Law's birthday this month. I experimented again making my own flower embellishment using seam binding. I usually stay with products from one collection but am starting to be a bit more brave and mix brands etc. This card is an example of that - Stamp it Up paper, Kaiser collectables tag, Collections butterfly (love these), seam binding and Prima letters.

I have quite a few projects on the go at the moment - one of which is a Simple Stories Yearography album. I am almost finished with February so only a month behind. This is also different for me as I am using WRMK sleeves - so the various sized pockets are "different" than my usual 12 x 12 layouts. I am enjoying this project - and looking forward to having the whole year documented once I have finished!!
