something different....

SMILE...
I decided to use some of the free papers that come with the scrap booking magazines. This one stood out to me and matched with a great snap from our recent camping trip with my bestie and her family. I don't normally make scenes or use such bright papers so this was a little different for me. I started with using Glimmer Mist and played around with making it run on the page by spraying some in the lid and dripping it on the cardstock. The layout just grew from there.....
I love the 3D look of these papers and the fact that the most expensive part was probably the American Craft Thickers title!!! I may try more of this type of page in the future....and can already see it working on cards.

CARDS

I made a gorgeous card for my Mother in Law's birthday this month. I experimented again making my own flower embellishment using seam binding. I usually stay with products from one collection but am starting to be a bit more brave and mix brands etc. This card is an example of that - Stamp it Up paper, Kaiser collectables tag, Collections butterfly (love these), seam binding and Prima letters.

I have quite a few projects on the go at the moment - one of which is a Simple Stories Yearography album. I am almost finished with February so only a month behind. This is also different for me as I am using WRMK sleeves - so the various sized pockets are "different" than my usual 12 x 12 layouts. I am enjoying this project - and looking forward to having the whole year documented once I have finished!!
